Boston Globe, Vice and Boston Magazine journalist Ryan .H Walsh’s mind-expanding dive into a lost chapter of 1968, Astral Weeks: A Secret History of 1968 features the famous and forgotten. From life-changing concerts and chilling crimes, to acid experiments and film shoots, Ryan H. Walsh will reveal the secret, wild history of the unique time that saw the recording of Van Morrison’s Astral Weeks. An iconic rock album shrouded in legend, a masterpiece that has touched generations of listeners and influenced everyone from Bruce Springsteen to Martin Scorsese.

Featuring a set in tribute to the album that blessed us with such tracks as Madam George, Cyprus Avenue and Sweet Thing, Donal Scullion leads a special guest band for what promises to be one of Belfast Book Festival 2018’s most unique and special events.

So bring along a bottle to this BYO event in the iconic Strand Arts Centre; a wild night is calling to celebrate East Belfast’s most famous troubadour and one of the finest rock albums ever recorded.
